Chip Card / Smart Card System Experiences
i2b's founding partners designed and developed an Electronic
Purse Card Value System "iqSV" for Diebold Inc. of Canton OH, while
under contract with RDS Tasks International Inc.
This Stored Value System pre-dated some of the current smart-card initiatives
recently brought forth by VISA International and Mondex. This system was
designed to operate, monitor and report on off-line electronic purse financial
transaction activity within the closed-end Stored Value Systems it supported.
The system interfaced with Schlumberger/Danyl card accepting devices such as
(Vending Machines, Laundry Machines, and POS Terminals) through Schlumberger's
RECAP system.
Diebold patened the iq Stored Value System on February
29,2000 (United
States Patient #6,032,135), listing i2b's principles as the Inventors.
Some of the implementations of that system were:
-
The Jacksonville Jaguars NFL Stadium
-
The Carolina Panthers NFL Stadium
-
Penn State University
-
PNC Bank.
Client Testimonial
"On August 18, 1995, the first home game of the Jacksonville Jaguars football
team was played in the newly renovated Jacksonville Municipal Stadium. On that
date the Jacksonville Stadium SVC Project Team also launched the first stored
value card payment system ever established ..."
